Abstract:
Educational evaluation, as one of the three major fields of contemporary educational science research, plays an important role in our educational reform. However, why evaluation (purpose of evaluation), who evaluates (subject of evaluation), how to evaluate (methods and strategies of evaluation), and how to determine the credibility and effectiveness of current evaluations (reliability and validity of evaluation) are issues worth paying attention to. Our society and schools have always focused on the growth and development of students, but educational evaluation solely based on grades is inappropriate. Education decision-makers are also attempting to transform our existing single evaluation subject into a multi-party participation in educational evaluation, or introducing third-party participation in educational evaluation, and have also made strong practical explorations and innovations in the comprehensive quality evaluation of high school students. How to leverage the educational and developmental functions of evaluation, and how to provide more information references for schools and educational decision-makers instead of exerting external pressure on students, teachers, and schools? The experience of Finland's education reform in the application of evaluation can provide some inspiration on how to reform and develop education evaluation in the field of basic education in the future.
