Abstract:
International Chinese education has entered a new stage of development, coupled with the ongoing impact of the global pandemic, there is a huge shortage of overseas Chinese teachers, requiring a comprehensive and multidimensional perspective to promote the localization of overseas Chinese teachers. Based on the current development status of overseas Chinese teachers, we adhere to the principles of focusing on the present, improving quality, perfecting the system, and playing a role, and explore strategies to promote the localization of overseas Chinese teachers from macro, meso, and micro perspectives. Macroscopically, adhere to the strategy of prioritizing the development of Chinese teacher education; Establish a leadership organization for the training of national Chinese language teachers and carry out long-term strategic planning; Gradually establish a lifelong education system for Chinese teachers; Improve the financial system to support international Chinese education and increase investment in Chinese teacher education. On the medium level, the cultivation of Chinese teachers starts from specific realities; Improve the quality assurance system and development platform for Chinese teacher education; Give full play to the role of Confucius Institutes in cultivating local Chinese language teachers and explore channels for introducing high-quality Chinese language teachers from educational and training enterprises. On a micro level, leveraging the role of opinion leaders among Chinese language teachers, enhancing the personal qualities of overseas Chinese language teachers, and improving their treatment and social recognition.
