Abstract：

The goal of higher education is training of innovative talents, and cultural heritage and serving the society cross the main courses of contemporary design teaching. In recent years, the review of the design teaching system and curriculum content of art schools at home and abroad has caused the author to think about the understanding and application on materials. Materials as important elements of design have different understanding and presentation in the art education of universities and colleges. This article is based on the individual's knowledge and understanding of basic education in design, discussed how to strengthen students' knowledge, application, and integration and innovation of skills in material courses.
