Abstract：

This article aims to explore the current development status and thoughts of cello teaching in ordinary universities. By analyzing the current situation of cello teaching in ordinary universities in terms of curriculum design, teaching methods, faculty strength, and student needs, the existing problems and challenges have been revealed. The article further proposes development strategies such as optimizing the curriculum structure, innovating teaching methods, strengthening the construction of the teaching staff, and paying attention to the personalized needs of students, in order to promote the improvement of cello teaching quality in ordinary universities and the comprehensive development of students' music literacy.
