Abstract:

With the sustained growth of the global economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the tourism industry has become one of the important forces driving the development of the world economy. As a fundamental course in tourism management, tourism geography is of great significance in cultivating students' geographical spatial thinking, tourism resource analysis ability, tourism planning and development ability, and other aspects. However, the traditional teaching model of tourism geography often focuses on imparting theoretical knowledge and neglects the cultivation of students' vocational abilities, making it difficult to meet the demand for high-quality skilled talents in the tourism industry. Therefore, reforming the teaching of tourism geography courses in vocational colleges based on vocational ability orientation has become a key measure to improve teaching quality and promote students' employment and entrepreneurship. Therefore, this article further explores the teaching reform of tourism geography courses in vocational colleges based on vocational ability orientation, and provides a detailed analysis of the teaching status of tourism geography classrooms and the measures for reforming tourism geography teaching in vocational colleges.
