Abstract:
The quality of English translation of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations instructions affects the acceptance and recognition of consumers in target language countries. Through the comparative analysis of more than 170 examples of instructions at home and abroad, it is found that traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations for internal use and traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations for external use are mainly used as herbal supplements and drugs for export, which are quite different from the contents of the instructions of domestic corresponding drugs, and generally comply with the guidelines and language habits of the target language countries. It can be seen that the English translation of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations instructions should follow the ethical guidance of "reader centered". Pharmaceutical enterprises and translators should share ethical responsibilities, improve the quality of translation, and help Chinese medicine culture go global.
