Abstract:
In the context of global integration, China has gradually increased its opening up to the outside world, and closer exchanges have been formed among multiple countries. There is a greater demand for English talents, especially cross-cultural communication skills. However, in traditional English teaching, teachers have not placed much emphasis on cultivating students' cross-cultural communication skills. Language is one of the manifestations of culture, and culture is the foundation of language. If students do not have a deep understanding of the cultural differences between the East and the West, it will inevitably be difficult for them to master English in depth. Therefore, in the current context of cross-cultural communication, college English teaching needs to pay attention to the cultivation of students' cross-cultural communication skills, help them clarify the differences between Chinese and Western cultures, and promote the enhancement of students' cross-cultural communication skills through the use of diversified measures. On the basis of elaborating on the necessity and significance of innovative reform in college English teaching from a cross-cultural perspective, this article explores the problems currently existing in college English teaching models and points out targeted innovative reform measures for reference and inspiration.
