Abstract:
Neuroscience places the human body, emotions, and "irrationality" in a subjective position, especially with the emergence of "critical neuroscience", which further promotes the widespread application of neuroscience theories and methods in the analysis of humanities and social sciences. In the study of human geography, neuroscience has gradually been applied to explain the process and mechanism of human environment interaction, forming a "neural turn" in human geography. The new changes and corresponding achievements in epistemology, methodology, and research paradigms have also been put into practice in many fields. The paper first based on embodied geography and non representational theory, sorted out the theoretical basis of neurogeography from the perspectives of epistemology and methodology. Then, it analyzed relevant case studies from three aspects: spatial perception, emotional geography, and behavioral practice, introduced the current attempts of interdisciplinary practice between human geography and neuroscience, and revealed the possibility and potential of interdisciplinary practice between human geography and neuroscience, in order to explore new interdisciplinary dialogue on the "neural turn" of human geography.
