Abstract:

Shadow Education, as a form of complementary education, has been growing rapidly in China in recent years, especially in the field of English language subjects. With the acceleration of globalization and the growing importance of English as an international language, Chinese parents' expectations of their children's English proficiency are rising. This demand has given rise to a huge market for extracurricular tutoring, making English shadow education an important supplement to school education. However, the rapid expansion of shadow education has also brought about a series of problems. The purpose of this paper is to explore the current situation of English shadow education in China by analyzing Bourdieu's theory, with a view to providing reference for the standardized development of shadow education.
