Abstract：

Ideological and political education of college students is an important part of college education, which aims to guide college students to establish a correct worldview, outlook on life and values, and enhance their sense of social responsibility and civic awareness. With the rapid development of information technology, new media has been deeply integrated into the study and life of college students, and has become an important platform for them to obtain information and exchange ideas. Therefore, if teachers flexibly utilize new media and innovate the ideological and political education methods for college students, it is conducive to expanding educational channels and resources, promoting students' independent learning and discursive ability, and shaping students' positive values. In this regard, this paper analyzes the connotation and characteristics of new media, studies the positive impact of new media on the ideological and political education of college students on this basis, and then explores the methods of innovative ideological and political education of college students in the new media environment, with a view to improving the quality and effect of ideological and political education.
