Abstract:
Currently, art education in colleges and universities is confronted with the problem of disproportionate traditional skills teaching and aesthetic quality development, and we need to find a way back to the original purpose of "educating people through beauty". The increasing reliance of society on innovative and interdisciplinary talents will require art education to move beyond single-dimensional technical training in favor of educating people as a whole, with aesthetic role as the medium. At present, the teaching process is generally mechanized and characterized by homogenized content and mechanized evaluation, which limits the depth of realization of the inherent value of aesthetic education. I will analyze the essence of the idea of "educating people through beauty", and aligning it with the status of art education in colleges and universities, I will propose several strategies related to reconstructing the teaching objective system, along with integrating non-disciplinary contents, and innovating practice routes, to encourage the transformation of art education from instrumental rationality to rationality of value, and provide a theoretical basis for the cultivation with new age talents with aesthetic sensibility, cultural identity and innovation capability.
