Abstract:
In this study, we conduct an in-depth exploration of the translation strategies and numerous challenges encountered in the overseas dissemination of Huxiang cultural elements. Against the backdrop of globalization, the international spread of Huxiang culture is not merely a form of cultural export; more profoundly, it represents a practice of cross-cultural communication. The core focus of this research is how to skillfully use translation techniques to bridge cultural differences and language barriers, thereby accurately conveying the unique elements of Huxiang culture, such as its distinctive dialect, local customs, and rich culinary traditions. By adopting a comprehensive methodological approach and drawing on extensive literature and vivid case analyses, this paper delves into balancing foreignization and domestication strategies in culturally adaptive and multimodal translation processes. Through in-depth analysis of specific examples, the study reveals key strategies in cross-cultural communication and offers insightful perspectives and recommendations for translation practice. The findings demonstrate that preserving cultural authenticity and ensuring accuracy of expression, as well as conveying the unique charm and profound connotations of Huxiang culture, are of immeasurable importance for its widespread dissemination and deep understanding on a global scale.
