Abstract:
The construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port is a major strategic deployment of China in the new
era. It is a key measure to deepen reform and opening up, an important platform for promoting regional
industrial upgrading, and a hub for international exchanges. Against this backdrop, nursing education in
universities faces new talent demands and social expectations while also encountering significant opportunities
for value reconstruction and educational innovation. As a crucial component of medical education, the quality of
talent cultivation in nursing directly impacts the level and development of regional health services. Based on the
policy framework and developmental orientation of the Hainan Free Trade Port, this paper explores the logic of
value reconstruction in nursing education, analyzes transformational needs in talent training objectives, curriculum systems, teaching methodologies, and internationalization, and further proposes path explorations. The study points out that university nursing education should be oriented toward serving the medical and health
industry of the Free Trade Port, reconstruct its value system, and strengthen the cultivation of internationalized, interdisciplinary, and application-oriented talents. It should also promote industry-education integration and
school-enterprise collaboration in talent training. By optimizing curriculum content, innovating teaching
approaches, and improving evaluation systems, nursing education can enhance both its practical and open
nature. Through value reconstruction and path exploration, nursing education in Hainan’s universities will play a
key role in advancing regional healthcare development, promoting international exchange and cooperation, and
serving national health strategies.
