Abstract:
This paper focuses on the employment issues of ethnic minority university students against the
backdrop of the digital economy. As a new economic form, the digital economy presents a "double-edged
sword" effect on employment: while it promotes industrial structure upgrading and creates high-quality jobs, it
also brings challenges such as job substitution, skill obsolescence, and a lack of social security for flexible
employment. Using graduate data from Jiangsu University of Technology from 2021 to 2025 as a sample, this
study analyzes their employment status. It finds that the employment rate of ethnic minority students is stable
and higher than the university's average. However, ethnic minority students still face employment difficulties, with their overall high-quality employment rate being lower than the university's average. This paper analyzes the
reasons from three levels: the students, the university, and society. Based on this analysis, it proposes targeted
employment countermeasures aimed at promoting high-quality employment for ethnic minority students and
fostering development, unity, and stability in ethnic regions.
