Abstract:
With the implementation of the ‘Double Reduction Policy,’ China's school physical education faces new
opportunities and challenges. The Double Reduction Policy aims to alleviate students' excessive academic
burdens, optimise the allocation of educational resources, and promote students' all-round development. Against
this backdrop, the ‘home-school-community’ collaborative education model, as a multi-party cooperation
mechanism, has gradually become an important pathway for promoting the development of school physical
education. This model emphasises the collaborative efforts of families, schools, and communities, leveraging
policy guidance and resource integration to comprehensively advance students' physical activities. Families bear
the primary responsibility for physical education, providing support and setting examples to help students
develop good exercise habits; schools offer professional physical education and practical platforms through
curriculum design, extracurricular activities, and sports facilities; and society provides abundant extracurricular
sports opportunities through community activities and sports clubs. Research both domestically and
internationally indicates that the home-school-community collaborative education model can effectively enhance
students' physical fitness, mental health, and sense of social responsibility. However, in practice, issues such as
inadequate policy implementation and uneven distribution of social resources still exist, necessitating further
optimisation of policy support and strengthened collaboration among all parties. Overall, the ‘home-school- community’ collaborative education model offers new insights and pathways for physical education in Chinese
schools, particularly under the ‘double reduction policy,’ enabling more effective promotion of students' comprehensive physical and mental development.
