Abstract:
Against the backdrop of increasingly fierce competition in the job market, psychological problems
such as anxiety and self doubt caused by job seeking setbacks among college graduates have become more
prominent. As a frontline force in student mental health education, the effectiveness of counselors' counseling
methods is crucial. Narrative therapy centers around "story reconstruction" and advocates for individuals to use
narrative to organize their experiences, deconstruct problems, and reshape their self-awareness, providing a new
perspective for psychological counseling of job seeking setbacks. This article combines the practice of
employment guidance in universities to analyze the psychological manifestations and causes of job seeking
setbacks among graduates. It systematically explores the implementation path of narrative therapy applied by
counselors, including problem externalization, story deconstruction, exception event mining, new narrative
construction, and witness consolidation. Finally, guarantee strategies are proposed to optimize the application
effect, providing theoretical and practical references for improving the quality of psychological guidance for
college graduates' employment.
