Abstract:
With global public health issues becoming increasingly prominent, chronic diseases have emerged as a key concern in university student health management. Against the backdrop of the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, advancing reforms in the university health education system to promote the implementation of the whole life cycle health service concept has become a crucial focus of modern higher education. Guided by the concept of whole life cycle health services in the Free Trade Port, this paper analyzes the reconstruction pathways of university chronic disease management curricula. Starting from the theoretical foundation, the paper examines the deficiencies of current curricula and, in light of the Free Trade Port’s health service policies and resource advantages, proposes strategies such as redefining curriculum objectives, optimizing course content, innovating teaching methods, and improving evaluation systems. Findings indicate that integrating the whole life cycle health service concept into chronic disease management curricula can enhance students’ health literacy, cultivate practical skills, and promote overall improvement in university public health education systems, thus providing both talent support and intellectual resources for regional medical and health development.
