Research on the Collaborative Education Model of Academic Guidance and Academic Ethos Development Led by Student Counsellors

Abstract:

In the process of advancing towards high-quality development in higher education, undergraduate academic guidance and academic ethos development constitute pivotal elements in enhancing the quality of talent cultivation. Academic guidance aims to assist students in clarifying learning objectives, planning study pathways, and resolving academic challenges, providing targeted support for their academic development. Academic culture development, meanwhile, concerns the cultivation of a campus learning environment and serves as a vital safeguard for fostering students' proactive and diligent pursuit of knowledge. These two elements are mutually reinforcing, collectively influencing students' growth and development. As the mainstay of student affairs in higher education institutions, counsellors play an irreplaceable role in the daily management and education of university students. They maintain close proximity to students' lives, understand their needs, and possess inherent advantages in spearheading coordinated educational efforts through academic guidance and academic culture development. However, numerous challenges persist in their practical implementation. Therefore, exploring effective pathways for coordinated educational efforts in academic guidance and academic culture development under counsellor leadership holds significant theoretical value and practical significance for optimising higher education models and enhancing educational effectiveness.
