Abstract:

With the rapid development of the algorithm industry, C language, as the basic programming language for algorithm development, has become a compulsory course for students in related majors. But the existing C language curriculum system in our school still has shortcomings in cultivating students' engineering practical abilities. This study adopted a quasi-experimental research method, taking "structure" as the teaching content, and conducted a teaching experiment on 60 students of our college. The experimental group (n=30) and the control group (n=30) were taught using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method and the traditional teaching method respectively. The teaching effects were compared and analyzed through post-test indicators, aiming to explore whether the PBL teaching method can effectively improve students' engineering practical abilities. The results show that on the premise of not significantly affecting the achievement of basic teaching objectives (p=0.184>0.05), the PBL can significantly improve students' engineering practical abilities (p=0.007<0.05). The research results provide empirical support for the practical application of the PBL and offer an operable path for the reform of related programming language courses.
