Abstract:

As vocational education advances toward high-quality development, aesthetic education—a vital component of the “five-fold education” approach—serves as a core strategy for higher vocational colleges to implement the “integrated cultivation of moral character and professional skills” philosophy and foster well-rounded talent. Distinct from general universities, aesthetic education practice in higher vocational colleges emphasizes deep integration with professional skills and industry demands, delivering dual value in aesthetic cultivation and career empowerment. Currently, while aesthetic education practice in China's vocational colleges is gradually advancing, challenges persist, including ambiguous core conceptual understanding, underutilized value, and incomplete implementation pathways, all of which hinder educational effectiveness. Therefore, this paper focuses on aesthetic education practice in higher vocational colleges. It first defines core concepts and clarifies theoretical boundaries, then analyzes its multifaceted value for students, institutions, and the industry. Finally, it explores optimization pathways to provide theoretical and practical references for improving the aesthetic education practice system and highlighting the distinctive features of vocational education.
