Abstract:

The translation of children’s literature differs from general literary translation, as it not only requires a faithful reproduction of the original text but also takes into account the age-specific characteristics of young readers. Based on the theory of receptive aesthetics, this article introduces three key concepts: “horizon of expectation”, “fusion of horizons”, and “textual indeterminacy”. Through the analysis of some examples, the study examines how significant linguistic adaptations, cultural adjustments, and flexible handling of blank spaces can create a translation that aligns with children’s reading habits while also possessing pedagogical value. The aim of this research is to provide effective references for improving the quality of children’s literature translations and to promote intercultural exchange activities in this field.
