Innovative Research on the Introducing Approach of Local Opera into Basic Education

Abstract:

From the national advocacy in 2015, to the implementation of the new curriculum standards in 2022, and then to the release of the Three-Year Action Plan for Drama Revitalization in 2026, the dissemination of Chinese traditional opera has transformed from mere performances on campus to moral cultivation on campus, while its education has shifted from unidirectional delivery to in-depth integration. At this critical juncture of transformation, Suqian local opera needs to change its paradigm. Accordingly, typification, curricularization, and digitalization may serve as fulcrums,with primary and secondary school students’ cognitive patterns as core axis. Meanwhile, it is necessary to categorize opera resources, sustain campus dissemination, and adopt digital strategies to tackle current dissemination challenges. As a result, a new "on-campus" communication ecology can be built aimed at achieving cultural literacy.
