Abstract:

This article reviews the pathogenesis and current status of prevention and treatment of atrial fibrillation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA, as an autoimmune chronic inflammatory disease, often affects the cardiovascular system, with a significantly higher risk of atrial fibrillation compared to the general population. Although the specific mechanism of atrial fibrillation in RA has not been fully elucidated, it may be related to diffuse myocardial electrical disturbances. This article explores the multiple risk factors for atrial fibrillation in RA patients, including systemic inflammation, autoimmune response, and possible changes in myocardial structure. At the same time, it emphasizes the adverse effects of atrial fibrillation on the prognosis of RA patients, such as increasing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and valve disease. Finally, a comprehensive prevention and treatment strategy for atrial fibrillation in RA patients was proposed, aiming to improve patient prognosis through early identification and active treatment of the underlying disease and cardiovascular complications.
