Research Progress on Gender Differences in Complications and Prognosis After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery

Abstract:

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is the preferred surgical procedure for the treatment of moderate to high risk severe aortic stenosis. With the continuous accumulation of surgical experience and the advancement of surgical equipment and technology, the incidence of postoperative complications in TAVR has decreased, but it still has a significant impact on prognosis. Research has shown that there are gender differences in postoperative complications and prognosis of TAVR. This article provides a review of the common complications (vascular complications, bleeding, artificial aortic valve regurgitation, stroke, arrhythmia, acute kidney injury) and the causes and preventive measures of gender differences in prognosis after TAVR surgery.
