Abstract：

Objective To summarize and analyze the application and development of innovative methods in the field of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in recent years, and to stimulate the innovation vitality for the standardization and modernization of TCM. Methods The literature related to innovation methods and TCM from 2000-2022 was searched from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) master database and PubMed database, and TCM innovation methods were extracted; then their applications were analyzed and exemplified based on functional essence, and their future application patterns and development trends were also discussed. Results Through the extraction and division,application analysis and trend discussion of TCM innovative methods, the unique achievements in TCM diagnosis and treatment system, formula compatibility and preparation development were revealed, and at the same time, an innovative method system integrating the overall, dialectical and fractal characteristics of TCM was proposed. Conclusion TCM innovation methods are steadily developing and getting deeper, but they still need to be integrated with the theoretical system of TCM in order to build an innovation method system with TCM characteristics and reflect the systematic and scientific qualities of TCM.
