Abstract：

This article proposes the application of a core technology concept in the Industry 4.0 era - "digital twin" - to urban management. It briefly describes the construction methods and supporting technologies of digital twin, and uses dozens of prototype systems that have been developed to illustrate the feasibility, universality, and practical value of the method, including its application in urban planning and development positioning, inheritance and development of regional culture, and support for innovative cities.
