The Value of the Natural Ecosystem of Mount Fanjing and the Value of Protecting World Heritage

Abstract:

As a World Natural Heritage site inscribed in 2018, Mount Fanjing provides a key refuge for many rare species with its unique transitional climate and vertical landforms. Current studies mostly focus on single ecological elements but lack systematic discussion on connections between elements, especially interactions and potential conflicts among ecological protection, tourism development, and community development. By integrating literature and comparing with similar heritage sites, this paper analyzes Mount Fanjing's core ecological value, highlights shortcomings in current protection and management, proposes integrated strategies, and examines economic changes in Tongren City due to related developments.
