Abstract:
For a long time, Impressionism has been portrayed by the academic community as a vanguard warrior against the academic school, thus reducing their historical roles to a simple confrontation between avant-garde and backward forces, and attributing everything to Impressionism, while constantly criticizing and denying the academic school. This simple binary stance is certainly beneficial for clarifying the historical context, but it can easily distort and alter the flavor of history. Therefore, we should base ourselves on the specific historical background of Impressionism and deeply rethink it.
