Abstract:
"Discourse authority" is a self empowering way for female writers to gain reputation, public respect, and establish social influence through literary creation. "Meta narrative" is a postmodern narrative strategy that consciously exposes the essence of fiction through exposure, imitation, collage, and other means. There are certain similarities between "meta narrative" and "discourse authority" in the expression of gender self subjectivity through the exercise of narrative power. In the late 1980s, female writers transformed the slick and humorous meta narrative into a tool for arming themselves through attractive narrative interventions; In the 1990s, female writers portrayed the "meta narrative" as a weapon for gender power manipulation with a strong stance; In the relaxed atmosphere of the 21st century, female writers have achieved a dual "suppression" of narrative and gender in a relatively gentle and low-key manner. The "meta narrative" of women's novels in the new era presents a development trend of "discourse authority" construction, transcendence, and deviation. In depth analysis of it is conducive to comprehensively promoting the study of gender forms in women's literature.
