Literary 'World' and Literary Narrative Based on Digital Artificial Environment

Shuang Kou, Xiuping Zeng

Abstract:

As one of the four elements of literature proposed by Abrams, the literary "world" is not the real world itself, but a public platform for narrative to be created and understood, including the "pre personality" link of literary metaphysics and its tangibility. From Romanticism to Realism, the reason why literary works can be created and understood depends on the different literary "worlds" in which they exist. The literary "world" on which global popular literature, represented by online literature, relies today is the digital artificial environment. The literary creation methods based on the digital artificial environment can be summarized as "database" and "modular" narrative settings. The double negation of reality and idea in the setting is presented in the form of affirmation in the specific narrative text, which means that as a literary "world", the metaphysics contained in the digital artificial environment is embodied in the Cthulhu style world picture and the survival creed of "anime existentialism".
