Abstract：

Interleukin-33 (IL-33) is a member of the interleukin family and is widely expressed in various tissues and organs. IL-33 is a multifunctional cytokine that not only inhibits inflammation, but also promotes angiogenesis, inhibits endothelial cell apoptosis, and protects endothelial function. This article reviews the structure, physiological functions, and role and prospects of IL-33 in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
