The Foundation and Generation of Value

Tongyi Shi, Aiming Guo

Abstract:

The existence of anything in the universe requires the value provided by other things, and at the same time, it will also provide value to other things. The process of birth, death, and change of all things is essentially a process in which one thing gains value and contributes value through interaction with other things. Human beings, like all things in the universe, need and can provide value to other things. However, human dependence on more levels of things deepens the foundation of human value, and stronger dependence on the same kind makes the value relationship between the same kind the real value foundation. The unique autonomy of humans makes them the subject of value and thus the source of value. Unlike things at different levels in the universe, humans not only have their own needs, but also have the ability to objectify their needs. Objectification is needed to promote the overall progress of human civilization, accelerating humanity towards integration, modernization, and technological advancement. Once the value relationship between things is established, one thing gains value, while others contribute value. It is also possible for both parties to simultaneously gain and contribute value. The process of forming this value relationship is a process from potential value to actual value, which is actually the process of value generation.

Key Words:

value foundation; value generation; value relationship; objectification is required; potential value
