Research Progress of Banxia Houpu Decoction in the Treatment of Depression

Abstract:

According to the synopsis of the golden chamber, Banxia Houpu decoction is composed of Pinellia ternata, Magnolia officinalis, Perilla frutescens, ginger and poria cocos. Its pathogenesis is mostly related to qi stagnation and blood stasis. It is often used to treat a variety of digestive system diseases, including depression, insomnia, respiratory diseases, reflux esophagitis, etc. It can also be used in the treatment of respiratory diseases such as coronary heart disease, chronic bronchitis and cor pulmonale, with obvious effect. In recent years, with the increasing pace of social life and the increase of people's life pressure and various mental tension factors, the incidence of depression has increased year by year. The current study found that there is a close relationship between depression and individual psychological state, and mental and psychological factors are an important part of depression. It shows depression symptoms such as low mood, slow thinking and depression. In recent years, more studies believe that job burnout is an important factor of depression. With the social progress and the improvement of education level, the prevalence of occupational stress depression showed a significant growth trend. Banxia Houpu decoction has the effects of soothing liver and regulating qi, invigorating spleen and drying dampness, resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis. At present, there are few studies on Banxia Houpu Decoction in the treatment of depression and its mechanism, and there is a lack of systematic summary. The purpose of this study is to explore the application of Banxia Houpu Decoction in the epidemiology of depression and cognition of traditional Chinese medicine, analyze the research progress of pharmacological effects in recent years, and provide more new ideas for clinical treatment of depression.
