Abstract:
With the rapid development of big data science from the perspective of the fourth paradigm, the networked development of agricultural scientific observation work is becoming increasingly prominent in promoting the discovery and application of scientific knowledge in regional and even global agricultural systems. Therefore, developed countries in Europe and America, as well as global international organizations, have successively built or upgraded a large number of agricultural system observation network systems. Practice has proven that the agricultural science observation network, characterized by multiple time and space scales, multiple agricultural science observation experimental stations, and cross disciplinary integration, has effectively established a "decision-making consulting execution" operation system, providing a large amount of high-quality agricultural science observation data and output, effectively supporting the implementation of various research plans, and playing an active and effective role in serving agricultural management scientific decision-making, promoting environmental sustainable development, and other fields. This article elaborates on the historical process of the networked development of agricultural scientific observation work, analyzes and summarizes three typical models of networked development of international agricultural observation work, summarizes the prominent characteristics and trends of networked development, and provides insights for the networked development of agricultural scientific observation work in China. The nearly 180 year development history of the networked international agricultural observation work shows that in the face of complex factors driving changes in the agricultural system, the agricultural scientific observation network needs to grasp the three key measures of top-level design, standard specifications, and data openness, adapt to the overall development trend of network integration, domain integration, scale expansion, and new technology system integration, develop interdisciplinary and international cooperation research platforms, accelerate the networked development process of agricultural scientific observation work in China, expand domestic and international cooperative research, and support the scientific and technological needs of national and even global scale observation research.
