Abstract:
This paper is an exploration of the impact of New Materialism on the creation of intelligent media art. New Materialism advocates exploring the relationship between matter and energy, treating matter and energy from a non-human perspective as equal participants that interact with and shape human society. Against this theoretical background, intelligent media art, as an art form that combines artificial intelligence technology and media, is increasingly becoming a focus of artists'attention. By translating the internal logic and workings of artificial intelligence into visual art, smart media art seeks to create an exploratory andreflective practice that breaks away from the established paradigm of art forms. At the same time, intelligent media artworks also provoke thoughts of human-machine relations and non-anthropocentrism. New Materialist theory provides new ideas and methods for the creation of smart media art, exploring the artists' perspectives on incorporating New Materialist theory in the creation of smart media art, thus promoting the continuous development and progress of smart media art.
