Abstract:

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease with a particularly complex etiology. With the deepening of global population aging, the incidence rate of AD is increasing, but the pathogenesis is still unclear. Especially in recent years, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has swept the world, and the risk of AD among the elderly infected with the virus has increased by more than 50%[1]. Objective: To systematically summarize the traditional pathogenic hypotheses, latest research on pathogenic mechanisms, marketed drugs, and latest treatment methods of Alzheimer's disease. The method has organized the research results on the pathogenesis and various treatment methods of AD, including early intervention and treatment outcomes, to make the research results systematic and comprehensive. Results and Conclusion: With the continuous discovery and achievements in the pathogenesis, imaging research, and clinical treatment of AD, new ideas and methods have emerged to address this global challenge, such as RNAi therapy and TRIM11 gene therapy. The article summarizes the latest theories and research methods, such as changes in the patient's choroid plexus, blood diagnosis, gene therapy, and cell therapy, providing more theoretical references for AD research.
