Abstract:

Active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) constitute the core material basis for its preventive and therapeutic effects. Their absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) processes in the body directly determine the intensity, duration, and specificity of pharmacodynamic actions. As a crucial method for investigating the dynamic changes of drugs in vivo, pharmacokinetics can precisely quantify the concentration-time relationship of active ingredients, providing a scientific basis for elucidating the pharmacodynamic material basis of TCM and optimizing dosing regimens. This paper systematically discusses the pharmacokinetic research of TCM active ingredients, pharmacodynamic research, and their correlation analysis. It details the materials and methods for pharmacokinetic studies, the ADME processes, parameter analysis, and influencing factors. It elaborates on the construction of pharmacodynamic evaluation models, pharmacodynamic detection, and the differences in pharmacodynamic effects between single and compound formula active ingredients. The focus is on the correlation analysis methods between pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, parameter correlations, the mechanisms by which metabolic processes affect pharmacodynamics, and the direction for screening and optimizing active ingredients based on correlation analysis. Finally, it summarizes the current research status and prospects future development trends, providing theoretical support and practical guidance for the in-depth development, quality control, and rational clinical application of TCM active ingredients.
