Abstract:
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) constitution identification represents an extension and concretization of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment. Based on the core theories of "correspondence between heaven and humans" and "differentiated nursing," this methodology systematically collects multifaceted information on human physiology, psychology, demeanor, and lifestyle habits. It enables precise determination of individual constitution types, thereby revealing the intrinsic correlations between constitution and the occurrence, development, and prognosis of diseases. Chronic diseases are characterized by prolonged courses, persistent conditions, high recurrence rates, and numerous complications. Their pathogenesis is closely associated with individual constitutional bias and has become a major public health issue threatening national health. This paper defines the core concepts of TCM constitution identification and chronic diseases, analyzes their intrinsic interrelationship, and systematically expounds the specific application value of TCM constitution identification across four levels: prevention, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation, and management of chronic diseases. Addressing current challenges in application, such as non-uniform standards, insufficient integration, and inadequate popularization, targeted optimization strategies are proposed. These aim to provide theoretical support and practical references for the standardized and normalized application of TCM constitution identification in chronic disease prevention and treatment, enhance overall effectiveness in combating chronic diseases, and implement the public health service concept of "prevention first, integrating prevention with treatment."
