Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the current status of educational models in clinical pharmacy programs at Chinese higher education institutions and the attitudes of teachers, so as to provide recommendations for optimizing clinical pharmacy teaching models. Method  An online and offline questionnaire survey was conducted among two respondent groups to analyze indicators related to program conditions, educational models, and the attitudes of institutional leaders and teachers. Result  Among teaching practice bases, over half (52.5%) of precepting clinical pharmacists and a large majority (71.5%) of precepting physicians held associate chief titles or higher. Additionally, 34.7% of surveyed teachers were unaware of whether core course faculty engaged in clinical work or communication with clinical pharmacists, and 19.5% reported little or no such clinical engagement. Conclusion  The faculty quality in clinical pharmacy programs at Chinese pharmacy higher education institutions can be further improved. Subsequent efforts should focus on implementing educational reforms related to medical competencies.
