Abstract:
With the development of social economy,China is moving towards the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way, but it still faces many challenges. Firstly, this paper analyzed the current nutrition and health problems in Chinese population. The data showed that Chinese population was facing the dual burden of hidden hunger and overnutrition, resulting in serious social and economic losses. Nutrition-orientated agriculture, which was based on the biofortification technology, was one of the important ways to solve these problem. Many new varieties of nutrient-enhanced crops have been cultivated in the world and released in many countries. China has successfully cultivated many crops enhanced withminerals (iron, zinc), vitamins(β-carotene, folate, vitamin E, etc.) and healthpromotors. The bioavailability analysis showed that nutrition-enhanced crops can effectively improve the health status of the population, and have an important application prospect. Through the development of nutrition-orientated agriculture, it can not only improve the national nutrition health, but also increase the income of farmers and promote the transformation of agricultural production mode and ruralrevitalization.
