Investigation on Sensing Recognition of Amino Acid Enantiomers

Abstract:

In their natural state, amino acids usually exist in both L- and D- forms, and the enantiomers of the same amino acid play different roles in life activities. The identification of amino acid enantiomers by traditional chro- matographic methods is time consuming, expensive and not possible in real time, so it is essential to develop a rapid and reliable sensor method for on-line analysis of amino acid enantiomers. This paper reviews three aspects of amino acid enantiomer sensors, including electrochemical, quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), and optical measurements, and highlights the methods of sensor construction and the materials used.
