Patent Literature Analysis of Okra Extraction Technology

Abstract:

Okra extract contains various functional ingredients and is widely used in food, medicine, beverage, cosmetics and other fields. A statistical analysis was conducted on 223 patent documents related to "okra extraction" from 2005 to 2021, and the protection status of domestic okra extraction patent documents was analyzed from three aspects: patent application time distribution, main technical fields, and patent owners. Furthermore, patents extracted from okra for use in "cosmetics or similar dressing preparations" were further screened, and frequency analysis and cluster analysis were used to conduct in-depth analysis of key patent technology information for use in "cosmetics or similar dressing preparations". The results showed that in cosmetics, okra extract used alone or in combination with other plant extracts can exert moisturizing, antioxidant, anti wrinkle and other effects. Plant extracts used in cosmetics in combination with okra are mostly leguminous and Asteraceae plants. The direction and suggestions for building and improving the patent network for okra extract in the cosmetics field were pointed out, including quality control of okra extract, extraction equipment, appearance design, and design of combination products containing okra extract.
