Abstract:
Against the background of manufacturing upgrading and vocational education reform in China, secondary vocational schools are expected to convert regional industrial demand into stable talent cultivation mechanisms. Taking Dongguan as a case, this study examines how industry-education integration can support collaborative talent cultivation. The analysis uses policy texts, official education statistics, local reports, admission information, and school-enterprise cooperation notices. Dongguan has a strong industrial foundation, a sizable secondary vocational system, and increasing cooperation platforms. However, cooperation projects are not always converted into traceable governance mechanisms; new major titles do not necessarily lead to task-based curriculum renewal; teacher enterprise practice is insufficiently transformed into classroom resources; and evaluation systems do not fully capture employment, further study, and long-term development outcomes. The study proposes a framework built around municipal coordination, industry association mediation, task-based curricula, output-oriented teacher development, and data-based evaluation.
