Abstract：

The transportation and travel modes of local residents carry a region's social memory and reveal the transportation level and socioeconomic factors of different periods. This study divides the evolution of public transportation and travel modes in Beijing after the founding of the People's Republic of China into three stages and compares relevant historical materials. The analysis finds that this evolution shows diversification, improved efficiency, greening, and the carrying of Beijing's social memory.
