Abstract:

Industrial intelligence constitutes a key driver for China's manufacturing sector to boost productivity and strengthen competitive advantages at present and in the future. How to leverage intelligent transformation to improve total factor productivity (TFP) has emerged as a novel research topic. Using a sample of A-share listed manufacturing firms in China spanning 2012 to 2024, this paper adopts the fixed-effects model to investigate the impact of industrial intelligence on total factor productivity. The empirical results show that industrial intelligence exerts a significantly positive effect on the total factor productivity of manufacturing enterprises in China, and such effect is realized through human capital upgrading.
