The median survival for all patients was 15 months. Neither form of adjuvant therapy provides any survival advantage. Surgery remains the principal treatment for operable gastric can cer. Care shoul d be taken to s tandar di se surgica l treatment and any adjuvant reatments must be compared within the confnes of controlled, randomised rials.
