Abstract:
Small and medium-sized reservoirs are important sources of local production and domestic water. This article takes the Shuanghe Reservoir in Nanchuan District, Chongqing, as an example of the research base for water resource conservation and ecological restoration of drinking water sources. Based on the water quality and environment, terrain, soil, water level storage capacity changes, and original vegetation characteristics of the Shuanghe Reservoir, five engineering measures were designed and adopted, including reservoir shore vegetation zone, ecological engineering of reservoir drawdown area, point planting of reservoir shore vegetation zone, natural wetlands, and ecological barriers, to carry out water resource conservation and ecological restoration of the Shuanghe Reservoir. The research results have certain guiding significance for water resource conservation, water ecological restoration, and water ecological civilization construction in similar small and medium-sized reservoir water source areas in Southwest China.
