Abstract：

This article summarizes the achievements and challenges faced by the agricultural and animal husbandry production of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and puts forward suggestions. The current challenges mainly include unreasonable planting structure, small grass planting area, low water resource utilization efficiency, low proportion of animal husbandry output value in the total agricultural output value, and degradation of arable land and grassland. The author believes that developing grassland agriculture is an effective way to achieve sustainable development of agriculture and animal husbandry in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, including establishing grain grass and fruit grass agricultural systems; Coupling of cultivated grassland and natural grassland, coupling of mountain desert oasis system, vigorously developing herbivorous livestock breeding industry; Strengthen the domestication and breeding of excellent wild grass resources, the development and utilization of agricultural and sideline feed resources, and the production and deep processing of high-end agricultural and animal husbandry products.
