Abstract:
With the integration and development of the digital economy and innovative technologies, promoting high-quality development in agriculture and rural areas through new quality productive forces has become an inevitable requirement in the process of Chinese-style modernization. Based on the 2023 provincial cross-sectional data in China, this project comprehensively calculates the development levels of new quality productive forces in agriculture and rural areas across various provinces and measures their spatial disparities across different regions by computing the Dagum Gini coefficient. The conclusions are as follows: Overall, the eastern coastal regions significantly lead in the comprehensive scores of new quality productive forces in agriculture and rural areas, with the northeast and central regions in the middle, and the western regions lagging behind, albeit with significant internal variations. Meanwhile, the contribution rate of inter-regional disparities in the level of new quality productive forces in agriculture and rural areas is notably higher than that of intra-regional disparities.
