Abstract：
At present, the digital economy has become a new driving force for improving energy efficiency. This paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system of digital economy in 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2022, and empirically studies the influence mechanism of digital economy on the improvement of energy efficiency. The study found that digital economy can directly promote energy efficiency; technological innovation plays a transmission role in the positive impact of digital economy on energy efficiency, but plays a cover effect; this conclusion remains after the robustness test.
